The 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is the latest car in Dodge’s Challenger lineup; the first Challenger model came out over 10 years ago. The Challenger lineup now has 17 trims starting from the SXT with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine that can produce 305 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque and going on to the Demon that has the 6.2-liter V-8 engine capable of producing 840 horsepower and 770 pound-feet of torque.

The Hellcat Redeye models come in two types, standard width and Widebody. The standard Hellcat Redeye model has 9.5-inch wheels and 75/40ZR-20 tires. The Widebody model adds 3.5 inches more to the overall vehicle width and comes with 11-inch wheels. You can mount 305/35ZR-20 tires on these. Speed-wise, the Widebody model beats the standard model by around 0.3 seconds.
The SRT Hellcat Redeye’s air-extractor design remains unchanged from that of the Dodge models from the 1970s like the Dart Swinger and the Demon. The dual snorkel on the hood adds to its distinctive appearance.
The interior has black chrome accents and the seats come upholstered in houndstooth fabric, which you can choose to upgrade to leather and microsuede upholstery. There is silver stitching on the seats and on the console. The instrument panel has the unique gunmetal SRT Hellcat badge and displays a 220-mph speedometer with a distinctive red-face. The Hellcat logo comes with a red eye. For a speedier vehicle, you can reduce the Hellcat Redeye’s weight by about 50 pounds by opting to discard the rear seat.
A highly anticipated addition to this illustrious lineup, the Hellcat Redeye comes equipped with a 6.2-liter Hemi V-8 engine that can generate 797 horsepower and 707 pound-feet of torque. This is a definite improvement over the SRT Hellcat which is capable of producing 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. It comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission and its upgraded torque converter is superior to what the standard Hellcat has. It is also going to be a more fuel-efficient vehicle.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is still more powerful with its 840 horsepower, but then the designers specifically created it for drag stripping. The Hellcat Redeye is a speedy enough vehicle for most folks and capable of going from zero to 60 miles per hour in 3.4 seconds. At its very optimum, it can reach a top speed of 203 mph.
The 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye gets at least 25 upgraded components from the Challenger. These include an airbox with an increased capacity and high-strength connecting rods and pistons. The vehicle gets an extra dual-stage fuel pump and an enhanced lubrication system.
Dodge is not limiting the Hellcat Redeye to a restricted production as they did with the Demon. This is good news for Challenger enthusiasts who have been eagerly looking forward to this new offering. Overall, this is a fantastic vehicle, melding speed with reliability, and with the classic appearance that makes it a head-turner everywhere.
